Trauma-Informed Learning

Learning isn’t just cognitive, it’s emotional, relational, and sometimes vulnerable. My background in special education, foster care systems, and instructional design has shown me how trauma affects the way people absorb, respond to, and retain information. I’ve worked with learners navigating stress, disconnection, and systems that weren’t built with their needs in mind, and I’ve seen what a difference it makes when we create learning experiences that feel safe, supportive, and empowering.

Trauma-informed learning design means creating environments that prioritize psychological safety, foster agency, and build trust. I integrate these principles into course structure, content flow, tone, and engagement strategies, so that learning feels not only effective, but inclusive and humane.
